Where the Story Begins
Doco designs and produces garage door components for industrial and residential applications. Their solutions are used by partners and customers who rely on accurate configurations to assemble the right door for every situation. With a wide and evolving product range, configuring garage doors is a critical part of Doco’s daily operations.
To support this process internally, Doco had long been working with a shared Excel file that contained all product options and configuration rules.
We See the Problem
As Doco evolved, managing product configurations through Excel became increasingly complex. Product logic grew, while control and clarity did not. Small errors could have a big impact, and keeping everything aligned required constant manual effort.
It became clear that Excel was no longer the right foundation for a growing, configuration driven business.
We Find the Solution
Doco partnered with Omines to create a more reliable and future proof solution. The journey started with an industrial configurator, where all configuration logic was embedded directly into an application instead of relying on manual input.
Building on this foundation, a residential configurator followed, tailored to a different audience with its own needs. Later on, the same approach was extended to Doco’s sister company Topa, creating consistency across organisations while allowing space for company specific differences.
As new wishes emerged and the original industrial configurator no longer fully supported the business, it was rebuilt to align with Doco’s evolving requirements.
We Deliver Results
What once depended on a fragile Excel file is now supported by a suite of centralised configurators. Product rules are clear, controlled, and easy to maintain. The risk of errors has been reduced, and teams can work with confidence.
Doco now has a solution that grows alongside the organisation, quietly supporting daily operations and leaving room for future innovation.
